Over the last year and a half some of Chicago's musicians have been teaming up in IV Labs Recording Studio to work on an album entitled The Elephant in the Room. Dan Rucinski (Land of Atlantis) has put together a cast of heavy hitters to collaborate on this studio project called Digital Tape Machine. Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee) is the percussion backbone of this driving force. Myers had the opportunity to co-produce these tracks along with Dan Rucinski and Chris Harden. He is featured on all ten tracks that will be released in June 2010. During brief breaks from their US tours Kris and Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee) would stop in for recording sessions before heading back on the road. Other contributing artist include Marcus Rezak (The Hue). Chicago is home to some of the most passionate recording artists. These tracks originated from song writer Rucinski's dance/electronic/rock/hip hop vision and molded into what some might call video game music. This entire album showcases each contributing artist's strengths and individual flavor. The Elephant in the Room was mixed and recorded at IV Lab and Electrical Audio. Harden co-produced, recorded, and mixed eight songs, and Manny Sanchez (IV Lab engineer, producer) mixed two, keeping this project "in the family." The ten tracks on this album feature a melting pot of many genres of music.
